Baxter's is well-known in the area for tasty soups, salads, and sandwiches. The snapper or French onion soups are always a taste treat especially now with fall's approaching chill. House specialty platters including such hearty dishes as baked stuffed eggplant breaded and rolled with ricotta cheese, baked in a casserole with marinara sauce, and topped with provolone cheese also promise to be a chill chaser! You may also like to try a Baxter's favorite - a plate filled with meatloaf and served with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and gravy. The fresh tuna steak sandwich marinated in teriyaki-garlic sauce and topped with sautéed peppers and onions on a roll is always moist and flavorful.

Needless to say, these food samplings are delicious but the special surprises are found in the appetizers, entrees, and desserts. A good start is Baxter's own "potstickers." Served in a generous portion of four, the potstickers are made with wontons which are stuffed with ground pork, minced cabbage, and spices and served with a soy sauce dip. These two-bite sized teasers are sure to be crowd pleasers. Another outstanding appetizer is the marinated chicken teriyaki - it's very moist, grilled to perfection and served on bamboo skewers.

You will find yourself anxious to try some of Chef Young's wonderful entree selections. One excellent choice is the French cut pork chop. The French cut pork chop is beautifully browned on the grill and served with a delectable sun-dried cranberry sauce which is sweet yet tangy and the perfect complement to the pork!

Of course, saving the best for last if you have an anxious sweet tooth, Chef Young will not disappoint you. Quite the opposite, he will delight you with his masterpieces. Creme brulee is an obvious favorite for many diners but this creative chef still adds his special flavorful touch and presents it in a generous portion with raspberry sauce and fresh strawberry slices. His cheesecake ice cream tango is truly a masterpiece for the eye and will definitely satisfy the sweet tooth. Fluffy cheesecake is wrapped in a flaky pastry tortilla which is deep fried and rolled in cinnamon sugar. The finished dessert is presented with a large dollop of ice cream flanked by the cheesecake-filled tortilla pastry. What a delectable treat to complete your dining experience - and it is just that at Baxter's Saloon & Eatery!
